Some people have gotten over the uncomfortable stage of fasting and they don't eat fruit nor have fluids. The least of your concerns during an EKADASHI fast is that you are going to die. We are all condemned to die. Being afraid of death is a waste of time, and being brainwashed to be afraid of death is a trillion dollar industry that feeds on people who are extremely attached to materialism to a degree that they have become too greedy. Keep in mind that you don't have to be rich to be greedy, poor people can be greedy too. Death is a fact of life.
It is very helpful to understand that hunger, or the feeling of being hungry is a reminder of the fact that we are trapped in cycle of reincarnation, and that needing to eat or drink water is Karmic Retribution/ punishment. There was a time, when we did not have to drink water or eat food! Now, we experience both physical and psychological pain if we don't eat, or if we don't have enough water, and our physical body will die if we don't eat food or drink water after some time, and our bodies will die, more quickly if we don't have air to breath. All of these afflictions are miseries that come with having to incarnate into this world. However, although, our bodies die, our souls are eternal. We shed bodies, like a snake sheds skin, and then we put on a new skin (body).
Regardless, of the situation, know that for every cause there is an effect and because of the fact that we are in a human body, God holds us accountable for everything that we chose to do, because as human beings HE has given us enough intelligence to know the difference between God and Evil ( Take a moment and Reflect on WHAT DID WE DO? what did we do collectively to other living entities in previous incarnations, be it in on this planet earth IMAAN or in other planets, what choices did we make that have brought us to our knees being victimized by so much misery and ignorance, experiencing such horrible severe karmic retribution/punishment such as the feeling of hunger and dying from not having food to eat, and feeling thirst and having to die from not drinking water, and suffocating to death if we don't have air to breath )
the law of cause and effect is severe, for every action there is a reaction, our souls are the same color. we all emanate from Almighty god Lord Vishnu (Vasudeva/Lord Krsna), and we are given the freedom to chose, hurting others will keep your soul trapped in the cycle of birth and rebirth moving from body to the next body while experiencing severe pain and suffering. Because we hurt something or someone our souls fell from grace and now we are parasitic human beings trapped in the cycle of reincarnation being forced to put up with psychopaths who enjoy hurting women and children.
While living under the rule of extreme ignorance and the perversion of men that think that they are god, who have inflicted severe attacks on women of all races in every country, men that have put on customs of priests and military business men who will continue to argue that the law of cause and effect and that the law of reincarnation is a figment of a very poor and mentally ill homeless Hindu man's imagination that is missing teeth. Regardless, of the comments and propaganda and slander that this military business men spread in every country, do not a lot yourself to be deceived by this ignorant perverse business men. Today, you can be a man from Paraguay , and in your next incarnation you can be a woman in Honduras if you have accumulated enough good causes that will designate your soul to a human body and not a body of a dog, or a python. Take advantage of the fact that you are in a human body and help your soul rise from this horrible world of suffering. Each Ekadashi reinforces our commitment to God, our atonement for all our wrong doing that created so much suffering for others and the reason why we fell from grace. Each Ekadashi is Our unstoppable intent to elevate our souls from this fallen state of being a parasitic human being, to once again become one of god's eternal servants and be able to leave the unforgiven cycle of reincarnation .You don't have to keep coming back!
